Vision/mission/values workshop

Our common vision was born out a facilitated workshop where we all shared our hopes and dreams for our future community and imagined what that Urban Coup may ideally look like. Chickens were obviously a must as was somewhere to yak comfortably long into the evening! It was a deeply engaging process and somehow we came to this punctuation:

“The Urban Coup will be a resilient, positive, and diverse community that contributes to a healthier world, and one that enriches its residents’ lives.”

You can read the vision, mission and values in the Introduction document, but the nuts and bolts of it is that we want to rely on this foundational framework of our community as the font from which all ensuing issues can be considered. Community will no doubt have trials and tribulations but we can take great comfort in that we will always have these sound foundations to guide us in our endeavour to grow in a positive, healthy and affirming direction.
